Kappa Tau Gamma

On Monday, January 16th, almost a thousand members of the CUA gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. by going out in the city to serve others. Kappa Tau Gamma was one of many organizations to volunteer. Our social service sorority volunteered with City Year, an organization focused on educating young students from low-income homes. There, sisters painted benches to be placed outside of Dorothy I. Height, an elementary school located in the heart of the District. Overall, it was an enjoyable day serving the community and embodying our motto, "We can change the world." Sisters Painting Signs for the school benches

Living in the National's Capital has its many perks, from being able to go to the monuments at any given moment, to interning on the hill and getting your foot in the political door, to experiencing history as the 45th President of the United States of America gets elected into office and then the following day thousands of people coming together to march for the rights of those they feel need a voice in society today. Over the weekend many sisters and alumni got to witness history not only on Friday but on Saturday as well.  Before the Inauguration Began Sister Maddie at the Inauguration We loved seeing so many sisters truly stand for what they believe and make a stand for themselves and others. I remember my first inauguration and its truly something so inspiring to see, the peaceful handoff of power from one president to the next. Whether you agree with the new president or not, I think we all can agree that living in a country where freedom of speech and democracy run...

In the Spring of 2016, we celebrated our graduating seniors with their paddle ceremony! We couldn't be more proud of where they are headed and all they have done post graduation.
