As my four years at Catholic are coming to an end, I begin to reflect on my time here and I have realized that a big part of who I was in college was determined by KTG. I remember coming out for recruitment my first semester freshman year. I was so nervous and so excited. As I went through the process, I didn't realize it then, but I was making friendships that would last all four years and hopefully well beyond college. After becoming a sister, I tried so hard to get a position. However, it wasn't until spring semester sophomore year that I was voted in as service chair. I planned various events and was the team captain for our Relay for Life team. At the beginning of the fall semester, the position of PNM educator opened up. I was nominated and voted in. It was one of the happiest moments of my KTG career. I was so excited and determined to be the best PNM educator I could be. That semester was one of the most stressful and rewarding semesters. I was so proud of my PNMs and to have served on Eboard. The next semester, I went abroad to Australia and while there I realized how much I missed being a part of the sorority. While abroad, I was nominated for Vice President, I accepted and was voted into that position for fall of my senior year. I came back to school that year refreshed from abroad and ready to help my sorority again. Being Vice President, was very different from being PNM Educator; however, both positions taught me so much about myself and my abilities. I learned how to make tough decisions and how to be a leader. My time as a member of KTG has instilled in me a sense of selfworth and a sense of belonging. I learned how to get along with all different types of people, how to be democratic and fair, and how to separate personal from business. Because of KTG, I am walking away from Catholic with a better sense of who I am, what I am capable of, and some of the best friends I could ever ask for. When I look back in 10 years on my time in college, I will remember all the good times shared with my sisters.

Welcome to the Class of Fall '17

This past fall Kappa Tau Gamma welcomed 17 new girls into the sisterhood!  Fall Recruitment Chair Leilani organized a Jungle themed recruitment with events such as speed dating, cupcake mingle, day at the zoo, ice cream social, and mocktails! Also, shout out to our PNM Educator for the fall, Britany, who helped the girls become sisters. Thanks to the tremendous help of Britany and the rest of KTG, we were able to grow almost 50% this Spring.  All the sisters are very excited to see what the rest of Spring 2018 holds for us!

Relay For Life

On April 21st, Catholic University celebrated its 10th Relay for Life on our campus! We had a ton of girls come out and fundraise, and together we raised over $3,000! Kappa Tau Gamma had the 2nd donations from a student organization! We all came together on Friday night to support Relay for Life and had a ton of fun! Our table activity was stress balls which was a hit among many other participants. We enjoyed live performances and rallied together for loved ones who either were suffering or are suffering from cancer. It was a great bonding event for all of us for an even greater cause! I am so proud of all the sister of KTG for the dedication to service and their hard work fundraising for such an awesome and meaningful event!
